While tib1211 and Derff were winning their first ATP500, Nelson mec two old stars of the LLTL : Adunar and anekfu. A dramatic season for both of them!

But first, congratulations totib1211 and Derff who won the trophy at Tokyo and Pékin. The "pulpotron" stays at 34 units.





Nelson, LLTL : Hello Adunar. Last year you were smashing your opponents and you were winning one trophy after another. This season, you are ranked number 14, no semi)final during the last 5 months, only one title (ATP250) during the split-week with 3 tournaments in february... What happened ?

Adunar : Last year, everything was working. 2 GS titles and the year end #1 ranking. 2017 started really well with a Aussie Open SF and a near perfect Sofia bracket. Then everything fell apart. I moved in a new appartment which was exhausting and then had to organize my own wedding, followed by a honey moon during the US Open.. Tennis wasnt really my priority from march until october. And as you might recall, our distribution network of performance enhancers was dismantled in march... it wasnt easy to find a new reliable network after this unfortunate event (the dismantling, not the wedding).

Nelson, LLTL : Hello anekfu. Your situation is even worst! Your "reign" ended 2 years ago, and the season 2017 has been catastrophic : no title, owner of the pulpanekfutron (34tournaments without any title, in progress), and ranked number #20 at the Race (worst than josemobilette !). What happened ?

anekfu : Bah c'est pas dur : je ne suis plus l'actualité tennistique, je mate plus un seul match, macron a été élu, et je joue mes tournois en une minute. Donc forcément les pronos sont moins bien sentis, les points ne rentrent plus, la motivation diminue, les inégalités riches-pauvres se creusent encore plus, le classement s'effondre, l'alcool arrive, etc. Le cercle vicieux classique quoi ! Pour l'instant je vois pas le bout du tunnel. Heureusement qu'il y a eu les saisons 3 de Leftovers et de Twin Peaks pour relever la tête.

Nelson, LLTL : it seems that your strategy has the same problem : you do not take many risks with the seeded players, which is a good choice only if you're able to be the leader after the 2 or 3 first days of the tournament. Last season you were doing some really good first days, so you were in the short list to win the trophy. But this season, your first rounds bets are bad, which makes it impossible to end 1st. Do you think about changing your strategy ?

Adunar : Spot on. We need to find that confidence back for the first two rounds tips. I am sure we will both come back strong in 2018, like Roger and Rafa in 2017 and probably Nole and Andy in 2018. Or perhaps we really belong to the soft middle part of the rankings now..

anekfu : Excellente analyse, ça pourrait être de moi ! Ca fait effectivement partie des plans d'enfin changer de mode de jeu puisque clairement ça ne marche plus du tout. En 2016 je choppe 4 titres tout en me retrouvant très souvent à jouer la gagne. Cette année si j'ai joué la gagne 3 ou 4 fois c'est le maximum, et malheureusement ça ne m'a pas souri une seule fois. Disons que je découvre ce que des losers comme chucknorris et josemobilette ont vécu pendant des lustres, finalement on en vient presque à éprouver de la compassion pour eux !
Et puis cette année a réservé beaucoup plus de surprises que d'habitude au sein de l'ATP, chose inhabituelle quand on voit les saisons ultra chiantes qu'on se tapait entre 2014 et 2016, ce qui évidemment pénalise (et tant mieux d'ailleurs !) ceux qui jouent les grosses têtes de série. Bref si tout se passe bien j'vais me mettre à jouer plus risqué, et djoko va se remettre à tout défoncer. Vivement que la LLTL lance la saison de double en parallèle pour changer d'air !
