Unexpected news on the website, here is the first press conference initiated by a player ! Let me just explain you how it came: after every tournament we try to decide who will be interviewed by who. Usually the winner(s) of the tournament(s) of the week is requested. I know that many players like being questionned, so I try to change and give the opportunity to others. If the winner has already been interviewed in the past 6 months, I will contact the finalist, or a semi-finalist, or the last player :) Or a leader in one of our different secondary rankings (leadorotron, rookies, etc.). Another option is to execute my request which gives me the users who played the most without receiving an interview. With this last option I decided to contact pdoth after the Rogers Cup.

But dwightcharles (interviewed last time in march) contacted us directly, to understand why he did not receive any interview. The idea came to let the players organize a press conference, an opportunity to say whatever they want. Maybe I'll add a bouton or a form to make it even easier on the website...

Here is dwightcharles' small press conference in Montreal :)

dwightcharles : It was SO awesome to win at my home tournament in Canada! Bianca and I scored a Canadian double!! I really felt the love from the fans and I think they helped lift me to victory. And it was so close!! BBZ and I tied on points, so when you have a close match like that its the big points that really make the difference and I think my first serve helped me a lot. We tied on winners in the first round, but I had more in the second, and that proved to be decisive. I was super pleased to see Drivers in 3rd place. We practise together sometimes and she finished only one measly point behind, and tied with BBZ on correct picks.

I really like the new cut system LLTL is using! It would be great if somehow the top players could get in first, and then the lower ranked players added later, maybe a later start time... But whatever you guys are doing, it is awesome!

I'm optimistic about the US Open. I think I'm exactly where I need to be with my training and headspace. My coach has really helped to focus on what's important and block the rest out. My goal for the year was to get into the top 10. I'm not quite there... still at #13, but I'm #7 in the Race, so watch out Latizada, here I come!
