Nelson : Congratulations Monkie for your best performance ever last week: runner-up in Shanghai, your first final! It's your first season, and you're now ranked #10 in the race for the NextGen Finals. Only 200pts to reach the event... Will you make it ?

Monkie : The first half season was very tough and I few times I thougt about quiting. The grass season was for me the moment that it all turned around.
The results were a bit better and I was a bit more lucky. Since then i'm doing quite well but without any results at the end. Finally until last week!
I was very pleased with my second place, even though a first place was in hand reach. Medvedev was the clear winner unfortunately.
I didn't know there was a NextGen Finals so I'll need to go hope for some results in Paris. Maybe a few people will withdrawn and I can still come in. ;-)
200 points is quite a lot and after last week (one match away from 500 points) I think this will be my last week of the season.

Nelson : Is there some kind of an internal competition between jimmycornflake, grandje and you ? It seems that you all started in january. We could have 3 players from Holland in the NextGen Finals !

Monkie : There's definitely an internal competition between the 3 of us (and a very frequent used what's app group).
We all have our role in the app. Jimmycornflake is the master of the grandslams but further then that he is by far the worst player. Grandje played a very good clay season but lost it a bit after that.
I think i'm the most solid player but by far the most unlucky this year. Allmost every week I can still win the tournament on Friday. Jimmycornflake mostly until Tuesday. He calls it 'black Tuesday' himself.
I'm looking forward to next season becasue I'm not defending a lot of points. I'll make my way up and i'm aiming at a top 10 spot for next year.
Thanks for organizing the game. It brings a lot of frustration but most of all, a lot of fun!



Nelson : Bonjour Panatta et félicitations pour votre 1er titre ! Je m'apprêtais à démarrer cette interview en italien, mais votre staff m'a informé que vous parliez parfaitement francais! Racontez-nous d'où vous vient votre pseudo, votre avatar et donc votre passion pour ce jouer italien du siècle dernier (dont le prénom n'est pas sans rappeler un autre joueur LLTL :)) ?

Panatta : Quel plaisir de gagner mon premier titre dès ma première année. En effet je suis à l'aise en français.
Panatta c'est un peu comme les joueurs d'aujourd'hui qui reste dans l'ombre des géants. Mais dans le fond ce sont ces joueurs qui pimentent le circuit. Un Stan, Del Potro ou Cilic qui arrive à se faufiler pour chiper un Grand-Chelem. J'ai beaucoup d'admiration pour ces mecs qui ne se résignent pas. Mais comme je ne voulais pas m'identifier à un joueur contemporain je suis allé chercher un peu dans le passé. Pour le prénom j'imagine que vous penser à Adriano2000x ;) ! En effet nous avons comme un lien de cousinage.

Nelson : C'était votre 1ère participation à un Challenger, alors que votre classement vos permettait d'entrer directement à Shanghaï malgré le cut. Qu'est-ce qui vous a poussé à faire ce bon choix de tenter un Challenger ?

Panatta : J'ai participé au challenger parce que j'ai raté la deadline de Shangai. J'ai toujours eu du mal avec les décalages horaires.
Ensuite quand j'ai constaté mon erreur, je me suis dit que j'aimais trop le tennis alors il fallait faire abstraction et foncer saisir ma chance sur le challenger. J'ai une façon de pronostiquer très cartésienne basée sur une étude pointue des confrontations entre les joueurs. ça rend mes pronostiques parfois trop conventionnels mais sur ce challenger j'ai eu la chance que personne n'ai vu venir Ymer.
